Keep an eye on: Blackbookers - 7th September 2022

Racing at Sandown-Hillside and Canterbury with some progressive types going around on Wednesday. We’ve got a horse to add to your Racing And Sports blackbook from each meeting.

Sandown Hillside Race 3- Asfoora

There were a few nice wins from untapped horses on Wednesday but I think Asfoora is the one that can make us the most money going forward. She won her first three starts before a brave on speed third to Argentia and Scorched Earth at Group 3 level. She's got great tactical speed, able to lead or sit off them as she did here, has a turn of foot, tries hard and runs time. She broke the 1000m class record on Wednesday and will target Group class handicap races around Caulfield next where she should take plenty of running down with no weight on her back.

Canterbury Race 2- Silvanito

This colt was beaten some five lengths but clearly unsuited at Canterbury when settling last and trying to loop the field around the tight turning track. I thought he loomed up as some danger at the 250m but the searching run told quickly and he peaked on that run late. His first up run at Warwick Farm was very good and I think he can win a maiden next start over 1200m at Kensington or Warwick Farm, especially if the track is a touch drier. It'll be interesting to see what price we get given his $2.50 SP here but we might get double that next time with a much more favourable set up.
