Bendigo Race 6- Airclash

It was tough going at Bendigo on the heavy 10 conditions and typically horses that led had the advantage, so Airclash's win first up holds extra merit. He had a preparation to forget last time in, finishing 9th, 9th and 11th (admittedly in stronger races), but had notably jumped out much better this time in. He'll no doubt be better once he gets over a bit more ground and if he can continue to find wet tracks, he can work his way through the grades this preparation.

Canterbury Race 7- Loch Eagle

This was an exciting win in the last at Canterbury with progressive four-year-old Loch Eagle producing a monstrous run from last in running to overhaul Capo Strada who looked home for all money. Already rated consistently over 100 with Timeform, Loch Eagle was only 2.4 lengths off Mr Mozart at G3 level last preparation and got out to a mile at Flemington, which opens up plenty of opportunities. The Golden Eagle looks an ideal target for him given the majority of the top line four-year-olds (Anamoe, Mazu, Artorius) are unlikely to run. Whilst he'll need to keep improving to measure up there, the style of his win on Wednesday suggests he might be able to.
