Japan Racing Preview - 17th October 2022

Racing And Sports brings you the best bets from around Japan on Friday the 14th of October.

Japan Racing 1 Picture: Racing and Sports

Racing in Japan is spread across three racecourses on Monday, October 17. Morioka will host a dual-track meeting with Race 8 conducted on the Turf Course, Kasamatsu has a solid 10-race card and Urawa boasts the most competitive racing in Japan on Monday across a 12-race program.

There's plenty of winners to be found across the day, but I've found a best bet on all three cards that can see us begin the new week as winners.

Morioka Race 9 - #5 Tsurumaru Hanako

This four-year-old daughter of Furioso has been in impressive form since coming onto the Dirt course at Morioka, finishing inside the top-three in her six starts at the course.

She was favourite when winning last start, but meets a competitive bunch of horses, including six-year-old mare Chana, who has jumped a heavy favourite at her past six outings.

But the form behind Tsurumaru Hanako is stacking up, with her past four starts producing 9 winners from 35 runners (25%).

From the draw, the four-year-old can sit just off her rivals and put them to the sword as they turn for home.

Kasamatsu Race 8 - #1 Ginto Aka

Ginto Aka has showed plenty of ability in his five starts to date, finishing close to the winner most recently.

He disappointed two back when they attempted to lead on him, but performs much better when ridden with cover.

The three-year-old son of Silver State can enjoy an economical run off the inside barrier with trainer Yuya Goto striking at an incredible 22% from his last 50 runners.

He looks very hard to beat in the eighth event.

Urawa Race 12 - #12 Felicidade

Has been around the mark of late, but has struggled to claim victory, now being 825 days since her last win.

She is in great form though and her latest run was fantastic when running on from toward the back of the field to be beaten narrowly.

Toshia Uchida is striking at 16% from his last 50 rides and has ridden this filly in five of her last 6 races.

Felicidade would just have to repeat her latest effort over this course and distance to be claiming her second career win.
