2022 UNDERWOOD STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Zaaki should roll across and sit outside Alligator Blood at a fair tempo. Outstanding clash between a trio of last start winners and a field of six Cox Plate hopefuls looking to firm up their claims there. I'M THUNDERSTRUCK (2) was second to Zaaki in the All Star Mile and second to Mr Brightside in the Doncaster but he had looked every bit a match for those winners and went to a new level winning the Makybe Diva last time.
He can go by ZAAKI (1) this time who returned as well as ever winning the Tramway and is well placed to produce the same sort of form that saw him run out a clear cut winner of this 12 months ago.
MR BRIGHTSIDE (4) faces a tougher test now but he could hardly have been more impressive at the Valley and is a better horse now than when he won the Doncaster. ALLIGATOR BLOOD (3) might be on trial over the extra 200m but he gave a mighty kick at Flemington and will look to do the same down the hill here.
