Winning Trainer: Kris Lees (part-owner Mick Carmody interviewed)

On the win: "After the Oakleigh Plate - we thought he was a little bit unlucky getting bumped around first go that way - Kris has been training him on that leg, he left him down here so well done to Kris."

On the ownership group: "There's a nice group of people, unfortunately there's only a couple of us here today but it's a long way from Sydney. It's a good bunch of people and we're enjoying the ride."

Winning Jockey: Mark Zahra

On instructions: "I spoke to Kris this morning and he said just have the cosiest run possible because he's not that strong over 1200 and it just worked out perfect.

"Things changed around with the fence being off but I was able to just conserve the whole way and just had to run down Maharba and he was good late. He out-fought Maharba."

On the track: "There's a bit of water on it, so it was soft early, usually the inside chops out and as the day goes on you get out further and further.

"Us jockeys don't mind that, you'd rather it that way than having to be hard (on the) fence because at least it gives every horse a chance.

"If you're in front you can find the middle so, no complaints here after three winners."
