Ballarat Race 3 – Narbold

Handy debut by this Chris Waller trained colt. A son of Churchill, he got back in the field and covered plenty of ground, peeling widest in the straight and doing well to hold down third. The winner and favourite had the perfect run and was coming off a very good debut in a strong maiden. Expecting him to be better suited over further and to break the maiden soon.

Newcastle Race 4 – Inquisitive Legend

Got the maiden out of the way with ease first-up off the back of some hot trial form and given how soft the win was, there should be more in store. The time looks very quick against the card but for whatever reason I think the two 1250m races are outliers compared to the rest. That said, this maiden has only run 0.1 seconds slower than the Class 1 and a faster last 600m. She's got a good racing pattern this filly and can win again with the right placement.
