Brisbane Best: Doomben – 1st April 2023

Progressive filly Spirit Queen looks well placed on the limit weight at Doomben on Saturday.

The O'Dea/Hoysted three-year-old has taken on good company in her two runs since she broke the maiden at the Sunshine Coast and has performed well to place behind the promising All That Pizzazz both times.

Spirit Queen was a real eye catcher when she drew wide and settled near the tail in the 3YO Jewel last start before rattling home for second.

She is untried in the wet so that is a query but she is better drawn and well weighted.

Tenzing can send punters home on a bright note in the last of the day.

The gelding has been solid in two runs since joining Tony Gollan for this campaign, last time chasing well to place at Eagle Farm and races well in the wet.

He has more upside than many of these and will be reaching peak fitness so gets his chance to strike.
