Racing in Japan

Two NAR meetings in Japan today with racing from Kasamatsu and Kawasaki. We've done the form and identified the best bets across the two meetings.

Kasamatsu Race 1- #2 Tosen Memoria

Keen to be with the horse with the most upside here and that is Tosen Memoria who has only had one start, running very well in second and only beaten 0.3 lengths. The other big positive was the 5 lengths back to third making the run of Tosen Memoria look even better and suggesting a maiden win is right around the corner. She's got good speed and was able to lead there and with that run under the belt she looks awfully hard to catch here. #3 Sugino Kelpie looks the danger having started $1.90 last start and racing in very consistent form but I think she'll be kept too short in betting against Tosen Memoria.

Kasamatsu Race 7- #9 Hinageshi

This filly can mix her form but her best is head and shoulders above this field and I think she's capable of performing at her best here. She was good last start on unsuitable muddy ground, leading and holding down second but go back three runs she posted a big figure that would almost certainly win this. She also has a host of other runs that would be right in the finish here and I think she's the horse to beat. There are a few other chances with #2 Victoire Mei starting short last time out but struggling for form and Hinageshi should be going close.

Kasamatsu Race 9- #4 Dynamic Ryu

The third of our bets at Kasamatsu and I'm keen on Dynamic Ryu who has been in flying form since transferring to the Kawashima stable, winning six of seven, the only miss coming two starts back. That saw him start $8 last time out but he quickly bounced back to his best form, settling midfield and chasing well to score by a length. He's rated within a length or two at all of his six wins at Kasamatsu and it means he just needs to hold his level to win again, with his last starting price a chance of inflating his real odds which saw him deep odds-on in most of his prior wins.

Kawasaki Race 8- #10 Nobo Shun Shun

This speed machine looks set to take plenty of running down again having won last time out over the 800m, showing plenty of pace to put a 3-length margin on her rivals. That makes is two wins from her past four starts, one over 800m and one over 900m and when she finds the front comfortably her speed makes her very hard to catch. She's drawn wide here but there's a long run to the first run and her superior speed should see her cross to the front. If she runs up to her best she looks the one to beat from #4 Kitano Blue Hallez who is racing well and has peak figures that would be competitive.
