Sale Race 3- Easterly
This was a powerful win by a three-year-old filly up against the older horses, having her first start for the preparation and sitting handy to a genuine tempo before racing away to win by 2.5 lengths. The Racing And Sports Speed Figure was easily the highest on the card and she looks a stayer with some promise. She's nominated for the ATC Oaks and while that's a long way from a Sale maiden, we've seen horses come off Class 1's to win Group 2's in Melbourne, so I think she can certainly aim up at an Oaks' lead up and see where she fits.
Warwick Farm Race 4- Hollywood Hero
Smart win by this New Zealend bred colt who has posted some handy figures in his short career without breaking his maiden. He ran to 84, 92 and 91 with Timeform at his first three starts and understandably relished the rise to a mile here. With the blinkers on he went straight to the front and could've won by much more than the 0.6 length margin given how easy Dylan Gibbons was on him late. His breeding (Sacred Falls out of a Savabeel mare) suggests the further the better and also the wetter the better so expect him to relish any rain the Sydney Autumn throws at us.
