Canterbury Race 1- Commemorative

There was no missing this filly who looks like a four-year-old stallion rather than a two-year-old filly, the hulking daughter of I Am Invincible bullying her five rivals as the well-backed $1.60 favourite. She pushed her way off the fence with ease and let down powerfully to score by nearly 5 lengths in an exciting debut. The third horse, Power Ballard, had run third in a strong maiden behind Zoukerette and Tutta La Vita on debut and was no match whatsoever for Commemorative who has run to 93 on debut which is a very promising start. Expect she gets a bit further in time and easily looks Group class at this stage.

Doomben Race 3- Right To Party

Another smart two-year-old maiden winner, this time a daughter of Zoustar who found the line nicely off a poor start at Cranbourne but appreciated (as 9/10 horses do) a more positive ride this time to win very well. She's rated 87 by Timeform and with plenty more to come given the arrogance of the win, taking over early in the straight and easing down late to win by two lengths when it could've easily been three or four. The time stacked up very nicely for the card too- of five 1200m races on the day, she was about a length and two lengths faster than the two three-year-old maidens and only a length or so slower than the pair of benchmark 68's which were run on better ground. Expect she can go through the grades if placed well with options in numerous states.
