Midweek racing from Sandown and Randwick and we’ve got a horse to follow from each meeting.

Sandown Lakeside Race 1 – Et Tu Brute

Nice return from this promising son of Dundeel who resumed as a gelding here over the 1300m and attacked the line strongly to score. He'd been around the mark in some good races, with form around some pretty handy Group class juveniles and was simply too strong for a pretty good field here. The second horse Limburg ran 4th in the Stutt Stakes to Griff last time in and Et Tu Brute will only get better over more ground. Wouldn't be surprised if he's on something like an SA Derby path.

Randwick Kensington Race 1 – Getafix

Not many were tipping Getafix to take this out with all the hype around $2.5 million colt Railway Man who was beaten nearly 6 lengths but Getafix won well with good margins through the field, evidenced by a pretty handy time. They had first use of the track but have run half a second quicker than the three-year-old maiden on the day and one third of a second quicker than the Bm64 at the end of the card. Good going any way you look at it.
