Sandown Hillside Race 6 - Dolphin Skin
Very nice return from this filly who was tested in some of the best three-year-old staying races last preparation without really measuring up, but this win suggests she'll still make a nice horse with more wins in store. First up over 1400m, she sat last in the field of eight off a below average tempo and still managed to run some pretty handy benchmark mares down. While she didn't fire against the good fillies in the Spring, she's run the fastest last 800m of the meeting here and the second fastest last 400/200m. I've no doubt she'll be fine over further and with conservative placement, she can keep winning.
Rosehill Race 2 - Marchesi
This gelding can salute at a decent price this campaign if he finds the right race. First up at Canterbury he clipped a heel and stumbled before taking the corner awkwardly out wider and again here he's had a tough run, sitting three-wide the trip, moving forward around the field and just peaking on his run late whereas the winner got the dream split. He's going better than his two runs would suggest (even though he's placed in both) and I'd love to see a senior jockey on next start just to get the most out of him. We should get a good price in a similar race next time out and he's one to keep safe.
