Sandown Hillside Race 7 – Some People Callme
Strong win by this Ciaron Maher trained three-year-old, a gelding by Maurice. They went at a strong tempo out in front here so he was somewhat suited by getting back in the field but he still gave them a big start and ran them down. It was interesting to see him get so far back as he does have good speed having led first up over a shorter trip. He's a nice type who will get a mile with ease and 2000m with time, and he can go through the grades this time in.
Wyong Race 8 – Commemorative
Good to see this filly return with a win, having promised plenty last time in, starting $3.30 in a very strong listed race at Flemington. She's a big, raw filly who sat midfield and powered away to win in Bm72 grade here, backed up by a solid time and giving the indication she's ready to deliver on her promise. There should be plenty of options for her in three-year-old open/listed grade, especially in some of the non-metro feature meetings coming up.
