GROUPIES RESULTS Autumn 2022 Round 18 Final

The Tatts Tiara proved a boon for Dagz, the sole tipster for winner Startantes, who romped in at big odds, which enabled him to overtake Oldtimer at the last minute to win the 2022 Autumn Groupies Competition by a comfortable margin.

Oldtimer however had too big a lead on the Yearly Board to catch and is the 2021/2022 Season Champion.. Ramses finished second  and Dagz took out third place

Dagz victory was accomplished by tipping several long shot winners, notably Daumier in the Blue Diamond Stakes and Hinged in the Surround Stakes in Round 3, Lombardo in the Goodwood in Round 14 and Alligator Blood in the Stradbroke, capping it all off with Startantes.

Oldtimer’s top tips were Sierra Sue in the Futurity Stakes, Daumier in the Blue Diamond, Shelby Sixtysix in the Galaxy, Glint of Hope in the SA Oaks and Apache Chase in the Kingsford Smith Cup.

thanks dhaulagiri for your work each year. I fell off this year as I am overseas most of the year these days. Form is hard to get in Thailand :)

where is tigerish, anyone know? Each year I must declare he should have won my year, he forgot to tip one week…..Black Caviar won lol..

Thanks for running the comp Dhauligiri - the Groupies endures as it is simple and effective

As an "oldtimer" myself I can even understand your Century Club reference Oldtimer!

The good news (at least for me) is that all those longer shot winners I actually backed so for a change my Autumn has been a reasonable time on the punt.

Lets do it all again in the spring.
