GROUPIES RESULTS - Autumn 2022 round 5 
Newmarket Handicap / Australian Cup / Coolmore Classic

It’s no surprise that nobody tipped any of the place getters in the Newmarket Handicap with long shots succeeding where the highly fancied failed.

It is however a very rare occurrence in the Groupies competition, as normally there would be a least one competitor who tipped either a winner or place getter.

The Groupies fared better in the other two Group 1 races with several scoring points for either the winners and/or place getters.

Whealy is top scorer this week, he along with Mr Mars, tipping Australian Cup winner Duais, plus he scored points for third placed Hinged in the Coolmore Classic.

Dagz, courtesy of his tips for Think It Over and Lighthouse, has retaken top spot on the Autumn Leaderboard from Ramses, whilst the Yearly Board top order remains pretty much the same.

There are six Group 1 races next weekend with the William Reid Stakes being run on Friday night at Moonee Valley and Golden Slipper Day is the attraction at Rosehill featuring  the Golden Slipper Stakes, Rosehill Guineas, George Ryder Stakes, Ranvet and Galaxy.
