Art Collector wins Pegasus

Starting at 15/1 the Bill Mott-trained Art Collector collected the top prize money at Gulfstream Park on Saturday.

He's a 6yo horse by Bernardini out of a Distorted Humor mare who was bred by owner Bruce Lunsford.  On Saturday he was in the hands of Junior Alvarado when he stormed through to the finish to win by 4.5 lengths over Defunded and Stiletto Boy who was at 46/1.

The weather was fine and there are no excuses for the beaten brigade.

Earlier the f&m turf saw a determined Queen Goddess 9/2 get the win with favourite Shantisara 1.5 lengths away and Lady Rockstar 15/2 third.

The Turf 1600m (cannot say for the boys as there was one girl in it) saw Atone continue a great day for trainer Mike Maker with his third win of the day and fourth of the day for Irad Ortiz.  Ivar looked as if he was going to win at one stage but he seems to have a problem in finding the line and Atone got past him. Speaking Scout 24/1 was third in a tight photo with Lady Speightstown (the abovementioned girl in the race).
