SWAN HILL: RACE 6 @ 4:40 PM

AMABUTHO (1) missed a whisker resuming in Tasmania and then was lipped out at Bendigo lifting to the 1500m. He has a handy barrier and McLeod sticks. He won't have to improve much to take this out. SPORTS IDOL (4) is a local knocking on the door. Finally draws a low gate and briefly freshened is feared. EXCUSEZ MOI (3) has an awkward barrier but has been around the mark in South Australia. Has a 3kg claim and good gate speed. The Gawler near-miss three back reads well. DANALI (6) has been solid so far this campaign and will be race fit. SELECTION: Backing Amabutho.

PORT LINCOLN: RACE 2 @ 2:03 PM (AEDT)

AS I PLEASE (2) has been battling to find some form in handy fields in Victoria most recently and has since changed stables. He should find the company easier today and he is a winner three times over the distance. A form reversal can be expected today. KINGSON (4) is another local marvel with eleven wins on his home track. He is well placed after the apprentice claim to add to this total. Each-way. TRYGVE (6) just missed last start and should get a good run today from his handy draw. If the breaks come his way then he is capable of going one better here. MESSERSCHMITT (5) is honest and is a player again. SELECTION: As I Please to win.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 4 @ 3:10 PM (AEDT)

SECURITY ADVISOR (2) wound up strongly only to fail narrowly when fresh from a spell last start at Eagle Farm over 1400m. Will strip a lot fitter this time around. Leading contender. SLEIGH QUEEN (8) did a great job to score by a nose over today's course and distance when resuming from a layoff last time out. Finds another suitable race and can play a major role again. PEARLS 'N' PIMMS (6) is coming off her maiden win last start over 1350m at Ipswich, scoring by 3.5 lengths. Deserved that after kicking off the campaign with back-to-back seconds and could work through her grades now. BARNES (4) is another last-start maiden winner with upside. SELECTION: Security Advisor to go one better than his encouraging return.

YARRA VALLEY: RACE 5 @ 3:45 PM

BELMASAI (4) is a lightly raced three-year-old who got his maiden out of the way with a tough effort at Ballarat last start, his second career run. Looks very capable of measuring up to this and expect he goes close from the draw. THE JAVELIN (3) showed early speed from an outside draw last time to lead throughout and score by 2.5 lengths over 1000m at this track. Chance for the double. DROP THE VERSE (8) was last seen in a much stronger race at Pakenham before a spell. Clearly better than that effort and looks ideally placed here. COSTLESS (9) may be ready to show more third up. SELECTION: Belmasai on top.

ORANGE: RACE 5 @ 4:16 PM

POPPY'S GIRL (4) has been unlucky not to strike the winner's tally in her two runs back, suffering two narrow defeats. Drawn better for a similar assignment. Hard to beat off recent performances. LOCH ANTON LADY (9) has found the maiden win hard to come by but does carry a solid record over this journey without winning. Gets in well at the weights with the 2kg claimer sticking. Can entertain. SUOMENLINNA (13) warrants more respect this time after chasing gamely to the line last start here. Worth including in exotics. AVID DIVA (5) was solid when fresh and can progress off that. SELECTION: Poppy's Girl the one to beat.

ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 6 @ 6:35 PM (AEDT)

BOOM BOOM SWEET (1) showed a ton of courage when capping off some good form to win over the mile at Ballarat last time out. He has since shifted stables and is backing up fairly quickly for his local debut. He is a consistent performer and would only have to repeat his last start to be winning again. FESTIVAL OF LIGHT (2) is eyeing up a hat-trick after making a winning track debut here last time out. He was a winner over the mile at Ceduna prior to his last start and should be right in the finish again. DIP ME LID (3) has been racing consistently and finished a game second in his first start on this track and for a new trainer. He will strip fitter for that effort and is capable of taking this race out. JET JACKSON (7) missed the placings for the first time in five starts on this track but was a month between runs and probably needed the hitout. He is set to make amends in an even field. Watch closely. SELECTION: Boom Boom Sweet to win.

GERALDTON: RACE 5 @ 7:20 PM (AEDT)

SPEED BUBBLE (5) scored a decisive win over 1400m here last start after settling behind the leaders to continue his solid form this campaign, with two wins from four runs. Rates highly and is expected to go well again. ALTERNO (2) showed good early speed from an inside draw last start but found one better over the concluding stages to finish second over 1400m at this track. Has each-way claims. ARABIAN RICHES (3) went a bold race to finish third last start over 1600m and looks close to a winning run. He has drawn well and should be figuring in the finish. CHIX CHATTER (1) sat just in behind the pace last start and then came home strongly over the final 200m to score a solid victory over 1400m at this track. Finds a suitable race and no reason he cannot salute again. SELECTION: Speed Bubble to win.
