Narrandera racecourse is a popular racing venue located in the heart of the Riverina region of southern NSW. Racing is conducted by the Narrandera Race Club three times a year with the highlight being the Narrandera Cup in August. Narrandera is located at the junction of the Newell and Sturt Highways on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, 100km west of Wagga Wagga and midway to Griffith. 

Narrandera Race Club was established in 1879 and has raced continuously from that time with the exception of periods during the world wars. Narrandera racecourse is a flat 1800 metres in circumference with a home straight of 385 metres. The cours efatuirs a sweeping horseshoe turn from the start of the home straight. There is a starting chute for races over 1000m.Narrandera derives its name from Aboriginal word "narrungdera" which mean "place of lizard or goanna".
