Race Form Analyst | Journalist
 

After graduating from University, Dean secured a role as a journalist in the media department at Racing NSW, enabling him to engage in a broad sweep of media and marketing work, including promotion of the Sydney Racing Carnival. At Racing and Sports he has been able to pursue his passion for race form analysis, working under acclaimed handicapper, Gary Crispe.

His work at R&S involves a mix of journalism, data management & race analysis - including previewing Australian races for Singapore & United States horse players.

Attending the 2012 Singapore Cup meeting for R&S enhanced Dean's appreciation of the professionalism of this important Asian racing center & the excellent amenities they provide for horse owners & race goers.

As a race form analyst Dean is assisted by the R&S racing data base - one of the most comprehensive in the world. It enables the detailed analysis of each individual run - in every race - for horses racing in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, South Africa, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, & for major US races.

In 2013, Dean's racing adventure continued at Royal Ascot - his most enjoyable experience ever, on a race track.

His interests are horse racing and sport generally. Dean owns shares in several race horses.

He has a Bachelor of Communications from the University of Canberra.
