Don Mackay has had a life-long interest in thoroughbred racing. He is engaged in a range of communication roles and provides race previews for online bookmaker clients and the RAS website. Formerly a journalist and political and corporate media and communications adviser, radio news editor, senior media adviser to a deputy premier and federal cabinet minister, corporate and government communications lead.

Don transitioned to his current role where he is able to apply his professional skills to his passion for racing.

Don's initial contact with RAS was when the company was still in its infancy. Don was on the board of the Queanbeyan Racing Club and RAS developed an award-winning website for the club, providing innovative form and interactive components to drive wagering turnover locally and through simulcasts into the USA.

Don's outside interests include rugby union, cricket, foreign TV crime dramas, news and current affairs.
