AFL Betting

Putting my head on the chopping block and posting my multi AFL bets. Probably jinx myself but here goes.

Collingwood -10.5
Bulldogs +34.5
Freo -30.5

It may be Mick's record breaking game but can't see it happening (won't mind too much being wrong here)
Should be wet in Sydney and dogs are playing ok.
Expect Demons to be a bit flat this week, and they take on a very impressive Dockers line-up.

Feel free to add any thoughts. Bit rushed tonight.

Best Bet/s

There used to be a thread (was it Todman?)for forumites best bet/s which I found useful for my exotics bets. Whichever way you bet, I think it's worth rebooting this idea. Doesn't have to be just Saturdays. I'm sure there'll be a negative mirror thread pop up, but couldn't give a rats. Good luck all.

Caulfield Cup 2014

I backed Dear Demi in this race last year and she went very close. Reports are she has matured a lot and she certainly seems to be racing better than she was at this stage last year. Wasn't far off in the 2013 Mackinnon after the CC, flew home for 2nd after getting very little clear running in the straight. She had a similar problem in the Let's Elope two starts back. When she finally got clear she really revved up for another 2nd (58kg). Last Friday she gave Solicit a bit of a start at MV and showed that same burst of acceleration down the tiny straight to win (57kg). I'm assuming Cassidy will stay on board for the rest of the Spring. I like that, I think he has a bit of an affinity with the mare, having ridden her 11 times for 3 wins, 3 seconds, a 3rd, two 4ths and a fifth. I'm a big fan of exposed form and I think she has that in spades. Had a nibble at 40's a few weeks ago, again at 26's, and 17's. I'd be surprised if she doesn't look a big chance coming down the straight. Very honest and tough mare. And this is her Grand Final. (though they have the option of going onto the Cox). Only 52.5kg in CC (down a half from 2013).

Dandino is another I've backed ($26), ran great in both cups last year, drops 1.5kgs on 2013 CC. Similar prep to last year.

I have a bunch of doubles with DD, Dandino, Bande, Admire Raktii (CC), into Foreteller, Sacred Falls, Fawkner, Looks Like the Cat (Cox Plate) - and Bande, Admire Raktii, Mutual Regard, Dandino (MC). Here's hoping to still be alive come then.

Alias

It's been happening for a long time, but the last month or so it has become ridiculous. There are more aliases on here atm than in a CIA Christmas party Secret Santa. And some of them are so obvious is quite amusing. But don't worry, if no one agrees with this then I'll just create an alias who will post a couple of hours later and back up my argument, while dishing out schoolyard abuse to those who disagree. Seems to work for some (at least it seems to work in THEIR minds, but not in reality).

It's got to the point where if I see a new name post something, I'm immediately suspicious, which is unfair to new members.

There are some very insightful/amusing/entertaining/helpful forumites on here, and then there is a minority of small minded clowns. Thank you to the former. As for the latter, I can only cringe at the thought of what you must be like in real life.

Anyway, enjoy the rest of the Spring Carnival people. After all, we are all here for the thrill of racing and punting. I know I am.
