Team Hawkes-trained four-year-old mare Colour Drops scored impressively on debut and in fast time (56.27). She was ridden quietly from barrier seven and settled back in last place in the eighthorse field, behind a solid pace. She fanned deep on turning for home, showed a great turn of foot to hit the front at the 100m and then went on to score with her ears pricked in very smart performance. She may be a later starter but she now looks to have a very bright future.
