Steve's Liquor Gold Sovereign (LR)
Gold Busker has now raced twice for as many wins. He was smartly away from barrier three and settled nicely in third place on the rails. He got a split and improved to be outside the leader at the 700m. He then dashed clear shortly after turning for home and went on to score impressively by almost two lengths in a smart performance. Siorca did not show any early pace from his inside barrier (1) and settled towards the rear, on the rails. He saved ground along the inside from the 700m, going to third on straightening. He then battled on quite well for second, having no chance with the winner. Band On The Run, still a maiden after three starts, put up a promising effort. She drifted back to near last in the early stages, improved between runners at the 700m but was blocked on entering the straight. She got a late split and ran on nicely for third, looking suited to further.
