The Chris Waller-trained Boban, who had an early history of racing fiercely, began well and settled in sixth place on the rails, travelling nicely. He improved at the turn, switched back to the rails at the 300m and then sprinted away for an impressive win, scoring by almost four lengths. He keeps on improving and looks capable of progressing to even better things. Belltone was eighth between runners to the 400m. He looked for a run in the centre at the 200m and ran on fairly well to take second. Choice Bro was near the rear, three wide with cover, to the 600m. He switched wider on straightening a kept battling on quite well for third. Ashokan led the field at a solid pace to the 200m and lasted to dead-heat for fourth with Sizzling who ran on from the tail of the field, without looking a serious threat. *ANZ
