TRIAL POINTERS

ROSEHILL March 15: Crack Melbourne speedster FABERGINO showed her class in her first outing for her new trainer Chris Waller to lead her 900m trial with ease and maintain a clear advantage over the chasers to score by two lengths in the fastest of the 14 heats over the trip (54.72; 34.99).

RANDWICK March 11: Blue Diamond winner ARTORIUS topped off his Golden Slipper preparation with an impressive second in his 1050m heat (63.50; 35.62). Ridden with no urgency from the gates, he settled at the rear and was still last at the 300m before peeling to the outside where he made up 10 lengths on a tearaway leader in great style to be beaten a neck on the line, showing he had adapted well to the clockwise direction. He easily ran past another Slipper contender CAPTIVANT.

ROSEHILL February 11: Top class mare HAUT BRION HER is ready for a big autumn. Her 900m heat win in fast time (53.91; 33.92) was outstanding work as she pulled her way to the front after 200m, allowed the runner-up to rail inside her turning for home to take a clear lead and then had James McDonald swinging against her as she reeled him in with ease for a narrow but impressive win. This is strong trial form.
