Four tracks across Japan for us to choose and share our best picks from this Monday, with meetings at Kanazawa, Nagoya, Ohi (Tokyo City Keiba) and Mizusawa.

Kanazawa Race 7 #7 Yamakatsu Leon

This five year old gelding has had great success over this course and distance. Sent out as favourite last start after a five month spell, he scored a massive 30 length all the way win when teaming up once again with Tatsuya Nakajima who has had four wins and a place on him this year. Should prove hard to beat, with the main threat coming from B Blue who is overdue a win after scoring minor placings at her last two outings and is closing in.

Nagoya Race 11 #3  Nobori Starry

Hard to go past this gelding who loves this track and trip. Made it win number six from thirteen starts last outing when he got home by half a length. Has a great draw and is set to continue his great form. Needs to watch out for Toho Tenryu who returned from a three month spell with a great 2.5 length win here that had eluded him at other tracks. Can only be fitter for that run and should give a bold showing.

Ohi (Tokyo City Keiba) Race 9 #15 Girandole

Since being gelded and having a change of trainer, this horse has been in a puple patch of form that has only one blip, when usual jockey Genta Ochiai was replaced and he ran eighth. Now reunited, and fresh off a 32 day let-up, he should be hard to stop yet again. Next best, Kura Rouge  is a three year old filly who seems to have found her preferred course and distance, with two impressive wins on the trot. Drawn to stalk the leaders, she could be the main danger in this race.

Mizusawa Race 2 #9 Logi Mustang

Battle of the third-up three year olds, with Pandoro, Logi Mustang and Celeb Na Venus all vying for the win here. All are in great form, with all appearing in the top two at their last two outings, but I like the way Logi Mustang has lead from start to finish in both recent wins. She stays down in weights and sticks with the distance. With the right run, she can get the hat-trick here.
