Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Bendigo, Hobart, Bendigo, Rockhampton, Grafton, Naracoorte, Werribee, Northam and Alice Springs.

BENDIGO: RACE 9 @ 5:05PM

Highland Girl (12) smart filly who has placed at her last two runs since resuming. Raced on the speed and just collared late when second over 1300m at Seymour on April 14. Reunites with Beau Mertens who has a win when partnering and looks hard to hold out. BOLD HOI HO (2) mixing his form up after winning on resumption before struggling when tenth over 1200m at Sandown-Lakeside last time out. Undefeated this track and can turn it around quickly here. MISS MILHOUS (11) was a determined maiden winner at start three over 1212m at Kilmore on April 13. Declan Bates back on and will need luck from the draw. PALANI (7) disappointed as favourite when eighth over 1600m at Cranbourne on October 22. Resumes from a lengthy break and expected to sprint well fresh. Look for him late. SELECTIONS: Highland Girl to win.

WERRIBEE: RACE 3 @ 2:17PM

Transzam (5) settled back and did about what expected first-up and then got into a place at Pakenham stepping up to this trip. Childs goes on today and the gelding rates strongly in this line-up. Fitter and can fire. SIR ROCKFORD (1) peaks on a 7-day return. Was heavily bet at Sale but things didn't work out with the blinkers on for the first time. They come straight off and be steps up again to the mile. Just needs to settle. SAMURAI STAR (4) impressed on debut after a slow off and can build on that. He'll be better supported today and is worth a look. ZOUPERB (12) is in a top barn and found one much too good here first-up. Draws out but he has more to give and quick improvement is likely. SELECTIONS: Backing Transzam.

GRAFTON: RACE 6 @ 3:36PM

Maximum Vortex (1) made a dominant winning start to his career here, leading throughout to put 5.5 lengths on his nearest rival. Drawn the inside, expect he finds the front again and they'll be hard pressed to catch him from there. BONJOUR RUPERT (2) is a handy three-year-old resuming. Three starts in his maiden campaign resulted in one win and two other placings and this looks within his reach. FIRE UP BRUCE (6) found the line strongly from back in the field at Ballina second up after a poor showing first up here. Back on notice now. REWARDING TRANCE (9) is stuck on the one win from fourteen starts but was okay last start and maps for a soft run here. BEAN ROCKING (4) is racing well and in the top three mix. SELECTIONS: Keen on Maximum Vortex.

NORTHAM: RACE 1 @ 12:30PM

Canny Rock (2) ran last at Ascot when racing out of his grade most recently but in a field of six he never really got a go and it is a run best forgotten, especially for those that backed him at the long odds offered. He won't be anywhere near that price today and in fact, will probably start favourite. He is poised to set the record straight today. STAR POWER (5) was only a length behind the winner fresh up and will be a lot sharper today. She is backing up fairly quickly which is always a good sign and she deserves a winning turn. ROCKON MOLLY (4) finished third at her most recent run at the end of December and then went for a spell that would have done her the world of good. She resumes today with William Pike in the irons and the pair merit healthy respect. SELECTIONS: Canny Rock to win.

NARACOORTE: RACE 4 @ 1:55PM

Load And Go (7) was narrowly beaten when heavily backed last start at Penola over 1300m and with four placings from six runs this prep deserves a winning turn. Looks the obvious choice in this line-up. TURF DECISION (2) resumes from a spell having won his last three starts and in a fresh-up state has winning claims. FIXATED (3) has two wins from 12 attempts this prep, he led last start and was only run-down over the last 100m. Nice effort last time out so is well worth following up. CARBONE (4) was well supported when placing third last start at Strathalbyn over 1350m, he races well on a softer track. In a fitter state today rates as one of the leading chances, don't treat lightly. SELECTIONS: Load And Go to win.

ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 9 @ 5:21PM

Saccharo (1) has gone to a new level this prep and though he is having his first start over a middle distance the way he runs out a mile suggests that it will be no problem. He won his first start on this track last time out and is poised to make it four wins on the bounce. WRITE YOUR NAME (4) is also aiming for four wins in a row and destroyed his opposition here over 1900 metres last start when successful by four lengths. He has a weight advantage over the top selection and it sets up for an interesting battle. I AM THE FOX (2) had no answer to the second selection last start but does meet that runner better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. Include in all multiples. LAKE'S FOLLY (3) is making his track debut and has been facing some strong fields most recently. His trainer Michael Hickmott wouldn't be travelling all this way just to look at the scenery. Watch closely for any market support. SELECTIONS: Saccharo to win.
