ROSEHILL September 20

Inside Grass; Soft 5

13 Heats – 4 x 1030m (3 Open; 1 Maiden); 9 x 900m (3 Open; 1 3YO; 5 Maiden)

A good trial win from talented sprinter JUAN DIVA augers well for his coming campaign. There is plenty of unexposed talent to work with out of the maiden heats.

JUAN DIVA (Richard & Will Freedman): Talented Snitzel mare had her first trial since she won the G3 Healy Stakes in Brisbane in June and looks ready to go on with it through the spring after a dominant win in the fastest 900m heat (54.22; 34.66). Took control from the start and coasted to win with plenty in hand.

The maiden heats will throw up plenty of winners. Godolphin pair RHETTARA and FRONTENAC went through the line together finishing 1-2 in the fastest of the four 1030m heats (63.11; 35.06) while JUMEIRAH BEACH, a recent switch from Waterhouse/Bott to Richard & Will Freedman, responded to riding with a sharp sprint to the line in the fastest of the five maiden heats over 900m (54.34; 34.72).

Other eye catchers among the maidens included:

CALL DI (Ryan/Alexiou): Second trial by this unraced Frankel filly. Impressed with a late surge for second in the open heat for 3YOs.

GINGER'S GAL (Bjorn Baker): Free running win in her quick 900m heat (54.75; 34.31). She's now won five trials – much better than she displayed in her only start last season.

GOLDEN AGE (Hawkes Racing); Plenty waiting for this unraced I Am invincible colt to make his debut. Easy lead and throttled down for soft win in his 900m heat (55.16; 34.80). He's now won two of his three trials.

KAZOU (Chris Waller): Couldn't miss late finish by this Zoustar filly from the rear in her first trial.

O'TYCOON: First loss in five trials finishing hard for second to GOLDEN AGE. Costly only start last season but better than that.

SALAASEL (Snowden Racing): Easy time finishing second to GINGER'S GAL. Fastnet Rock filly with plenty of upside from her debut third at Flemington in July.
