RACE 1 (6) GIOVANNA RUN: Promising youngster can make improvement off her strong first-up second over 1150m on this course on July 1 when she 'was beaten only a neck on a heavy track. She's a robust girl who can only improve in condition and relish stepping up to 1400m now that she has had experience on the Kensington track.

RACE 5 (7) TORYJOY: Stepped up sharply from 1350m to this trip third-up on the main Randwick track on July 4 and just went too hard in front for too long before she was collared late by High Opinion and Matowi. She's a specialist on the Kensington track and with a 3kg drop in weight and her added fitness she will be hard to run down if rated well by good front-running rider Kathy O'Hara.

RACE 7 (2) BLACK MAGNUM: The speed map devotees will be all over this tough sprinter in a 1000m dash that sets up perfectly for his racing style of sitting on the back of the speed. They should be low flying to the home turn with up to four designated leaders engaged, giving boom apprentice Tom Sherry a golden opportunity to bide his time and apply the pressure over the last 200m. Black Magnum flies when fresh, loves the wet and boasts winning form over the course and distance. An impressive recent trial seals the deal.

RACE 8 (5) ALMERHERI: Gets to this race third up and expecting this honest mare to find winning form as she has done in the past at the same stage of her prep. Improved off a luckless first up effort at Rosehill to hitting the line hard for a close third over 1250m in a BM 70 on this track under 59.5kg on July 1. No issue with her wet track ability and being a winner over this course and distance is another plus. Strong pace map suggests she can find the necessary improvement off her last outing.

RACE 8 (11) LE GAI SOLEIL: No surprise she firmed quickly to odds on when first markets were posted as she clearly rates as the horse to beat in her bid to make it four straight wins since resuming. She is again well placed to extend her sequence as she is down 2.5kg to compensate for the step up in grade from her dominant last start win by three lengths in a BM70 over this course and distance on July 1. Cannot see her going backwards off that performance.

ROSINA KOJUNUP (Warwick Farm July 6): This 4YO mare by Shamus Award creates a lot of interest as she has not been seen at the races since late 2018 when she won back to back at Hawkesbury and Warwick Farm before finishing fifth in the Gosford Guineas. She came back to win two trials that we noted with interest late last year before having another 29 weeks off prior to this sharp trial win over 807m (47.50; 34.01), leading easily and held together under no pressure to beat the well performed Single Bullet. They have persevered with her as she obviously has the ability.

MADAM LEGEND (Randwick July 10): This smart Les Bridge-trained filly has been flying and showed she is holding her form with a strong open heat win over 1040m from a classy type in EMERALDS. Both fillies went to the line with plenty to offer.
