TRIAL POINTERS

ROSEHILL September 6: Bjorn Baker always likes to see his horses run in their trials and would have been pleased with the effort of SHAMEONUS winning his 1100m heat (63.58; 35.59).

CANTERBURY September 1: 1100m open heat winner to impress included WILLINGA RUFIO (71.06; 38.56) and SHADOW DEVIL (70.48; 38.46) while maiden heat winners worth noting included SMART AS SMART and MARTIAL MUSIC.

ROSEHILL August 29: ENUENDO was a sharp all the way winner in a short heat (781m 47.28; 34.41)

GOSFORD August 29: Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have a nice prospect in ON THE BEACH, an unraced Not A Single Doubt filly who has now won two trials in the style of a certain maiden winner. She won a heat at Rosehill on August 12 and looks ready to go to the races after an impressive win in her 1000m heat (61.41; 35.75) where she led after 200m by four lengths, came back to them on the turn then sprinted to the line with fast last 200m to win by more than four lengths.

ROSEHILL August 23: Chris Waller gave the majority of his team tick over conditioning work and were not asked to compete under quiet rides. Among his runners to take the eye were VIVID FLASH and DEMOCRACY MANIFEST.

HAWKESBURY August 22: The fastest 1000m heat on the inside grass was won by SHAMEONUS (59.61; 33.21). The maiden heats over 800m should throw up some worthy prospects. The Godolphin team worked with plenty in reserve with an eye catching trial from PEREILLE.
