Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Moonee Valley, Townsville, Moruya, Ballarat Synthetic and Dubbo.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 4 @ 6:45 PM

KEATS (3) will be hard to beat here. He was dominant first up for a new stable at Sale before a strong effort at Flemington when racing along the inside. Out to 2040m looks a big tick and with even luck early in the piece he should be too good. HOPKINS (8) found the line well at Mornington last time out and is always around the mark in this grade, go well again. SHULTZY (6) broke through for a narrow win at Geelong and drops 5kg for the rise in grade. Worth thought. EL GLADIADOR (1) resumes after three-and-a-half months. Each-way chance in this field.
SELECTIONS: Keats to win.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 2 @ 1:27 PM

IMPEACHER (1) has been threatening and there was only a lip in it at Cairns the latest. Draws out but keeps a top hoop and can go one better. STEALTH FLYER (3) has switched from a leading Brisbane stable on a 23 day turnaround. He will enjoy racing in country grade and the red-hot Butler rides for the high-striking Taylor barn. LUMERAI (10) just missed at Townsville almost matching her NSW best. Fitter and in the mix. SEBROSSA (2) was okay for the new barn here and is another ex-NSW galloper who'd be a chance at best.
SELECTIONS: Backing Impeacher.

MORUYA: RACE 2 @ 1:40 PM

One for the Parra fans, KING GUTHO (2) absolutely stonked them by over four lengths when resuming and will have derived a lot of confidence from that first-up demolition. Collett sticks in the irons and could well prove to be a omen bet for Sunday's grand final. SECRETIVELY (1) resumes here but has won two of six when racing fresh. Spent a lot of time racing in town last campaign and should find this assignment much easier. Solid chance. PLATARA (3) has only missed the top four once in the past seven outings and that was in a Randwick Highway. Has to be included. IMPULSIVE TYCOON (7) shed the maiden tag here at the latest effort and can go right on with the job now. JUDGE'S DAUGHTER (8) gets in well at the weights with the claim and can fill the frame.
SELECTIONS: King Gutho to win.

BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 8 @ 5:00 PM

A good contest. REDZOUST (9) resumed at Geelong improved and then came here and posted an emphatic Maiden win from the speed. Better for that and should have the tow to clear the wide gate. The barn strikes at 41% here and the colt can go on with it. HEAD FIRST (5) resumes and is also in good hands. Brings an all-the-way 58 win and her city form prior reads even better. Goes fresh and is feared. QUITE THE LASS (8) resumes off a strong effort in Group 3 company over a mile. Her first up efforts have both been in better metropolitan grade over longer. Draws low and no surprise if she's wound up for this assignment. FILIP'S STAR (3) brings strong form from the grass and this surface holds no fears. He's a chance as well. SELECTIONS: Leaning to Redzoust.

DUBBO: RACE 8 @ 5:04 PM

VITAL VERSE (1) led in heavy going over this track and trip last start and was just collared late, going down by 1.2L. Drawn ideally again today with the 3kg claim comes in handy. Expecting him to go one better today. DYNASTIC (2) has gone close his past two outings and is now rock-hard fit and ready for this trip. The draw won't hurt as he gets back anyway, and if there's any pace in the race, he'll be flying home. OWHATA CRUMPET (10) went down narrowly at Gilgandra last time out and is worth thought again today. TWITTERSPHERE (13) has been around the mark of late and must be kept safe.
SELECTIONS: Vital Verse looks the one to beat.
