WARWICK FARM December 23

A Grass; Good 4 – 14 Heats 3 x 1200m (1 Open; 2 Maiden); 3 x 816m (3 Open); 4 x 813m (4 2YO); 4 x 810m (4 Maiden)

Polytrack – 3 Heats 1 x 1175m (Open); 2 x 740m (2 Open)

COUNTY SHERRIFF (Greg Hickman): We picked up on this unraced 3YO gelding by Pariah in his Warwick Farm trial on December 5 and this effort confirmed he is in the right form to make his debut. Led his 810m heat easily by four lengths under a big hold from Nash Rawiller before he clocked off inside the last 200m, easing down to a walk when he could have won the trial by panels. The time wasn't flash (48.81; 34.83) but that is no knock considering how much he had in reserve.

RAVENCLAW (Chris Waller): Taken by the first trial of this Harry Angel youngster to finish second to a smart type in FAMEAUX in their 813m heat (49.23; 34.60). It was the slowest of the four 2YO heats over 813m but that doesn't detract from the effort of RAVENCLAW to work home strongly from last under an easy ride from James McDonald. Suspect Waller has some good talent to work with.

FAMEAUX has now trialled four times and is a lot more settled and tractable than his first in September when he won a heat at Randwick. The fastest 2YO trial was won by the racy STORM THE RAMPARTS (48.16; 33.92) with STAR ACT also impressing with his third in this heat. I also liked the way AUTUNNO found the line under an easy ride for second in his heat won by DESERT SAFARI (48.21; 33.98).

In the maiden heats other good triallers included FIRST CLASS MOLLEY, NINJA STAR, BLACK TIARA and BOHEMIAN DAISY.
