TRIAL POINTERS

WARWICK FARM May 26: Unraced I Am Invincible filly SOUNDS OF HEAVEN jumped into the lead in her 798m heat and was eager to run as Chad Schofield kept her under restraint throughout the trial. Had plenty in reserve holding her advantage to the line while running the fastest time of all the 14 short course heats (47.30; 33.83). Has obviously improved since her first three trials early in the season.

GOSFORD May 26: Maiden filly AMBERINA was unplaced in six starts for Mark Newnham but had previously won trials and looks to be a capable prospect for her new trainer Nathan Doyle. Settled third behind the leaders before peeling three wide from the 500m. Ambled past the leaders at the 200m and coasted home under a soft ride to score by four lengths in good time (61.39; 36.47).

HAWKESBURY May 22: Lonhro colt RHESUS, beaten as an odds on favourite at Geelong in December at his first start, moved like a potential winner finishing second in his 790m heat.

ROSEHILL May 19: Bjorn Baker's lightly raced 3YO gelding O'TYCOON showing he has come up well with a strong win in his 900m heat (54.55; 35.06) after standing the leader a big start.

RANDWICK May 15: Unraced colt NEED SOME LUCK is showing plenty of talent with two wins and second from his three trials. Strong work to run past the leaders under a kind ride over the last 200m of his 740m heat (44.95; 34.08) in his first appearance since he won a Hawkesbury trial in February.

WARWICK FARM May 9: CREAM RISES was making his first trial appearance in 11 months. He set the pace easily in an open heat over 1200m and was kept under a strong hold by Nash Rawiller when overtaken late by the classy G1 winner Fireburn. I've always had time for CREAM RISES and expect he will take plenty from benefit from this workout.

HAWKESBURY February 21: The well-bred Rubick x Lovely Jubly colt NEED SOME LUCK went straight into the blackbook after his debut trial at Randwick on February 6 and a classy win in this 1000m heat in good time (59.72; 34.41) reaffirmed his potential. Jogged at the rear of the pack before switching widest on the turn and unleashing a sharp turn of foot to reel them in quickly.
