Star mare Wonderful To Fly is poised to score another feature race win in tomorrow night’s APG WA 4YO Final (1730m) at Gloucester Park.

The conditions of the $50,000 event ensure Wonderful To Fly gets to draw inside the three geldings who form her opposition.

Trainer Shane Young said he felt optimistic about Wonderful To Fly's chances going into the race he set her for at the start of the preparation.

"It's only a small field," Young told TABradio.

"The quality of opposition is very strong, so it won't be a walk in the park.

"We've got the advantage of the draw tomorrow and we will make the most of it."

The daughter of Fly Like An Eagle rounded out her preparation for the APG Final with a slashing third in last week's WASBA-Breeders Stakes behind Taking The Miki.

Wonderful To Fly settled with just one runner behind her throughout and was the widest runner on the turn for home.

Young said last week's effort gave him further confidence in his Group 1 winner.

"Gloucester Park is a hard track to make up ground out wide," he said.

"She came from a long way back.

"She's proved that she's versatile.

"She's got good gate speed and her manners are really good now.

"She's nearly the complete horse."

Wonderful To Fly heads up the TABtouch market for the APG 4YO Final at $1.40, ahead of Tricky Miki ($4.40), Noted ($6) and Goodfellaz ($9.50).

Noted beat home both Tricky Miki and Goodfellaz in the entires and gelding's heat on April 4 and has drawn inside the pair again tomorrow.

Young said he hoped Wonderful To Fly could head to Queensland and New South Wales for feature races over the next four months.

"She will probably race the Friday after in a mares Free-For-All," he said.

"After he will have two weeks off and then we will assess whether she can get to Queensland.

"If we can get to The Eureka she may stay in the east.

"I believe she's good enough, but we've got to get in it."

The $2.1 million Eureka takes place at Menangle on September 2 and is run exclusively for Australian-bred three and four-year-old pacers.

Leap To Fame, Captain Ravishing and Catch A Wave are the only confirmed starters for the inaugural edition of The Eureka.
