Race 1

#3 ACA POWER has produced consistent efforts this preparation both on the clock and on varying surfaces. The last time he was here on the all weather he was forced to giveaway ground, due to an awkward start and barrier, but motored home hard at the end. Hugh Bowman has been onboard his last four outings, creating confidence he can this time utilise the better draw.
#1 ON EXCEL STAR makes his debut on the all weather and is going to be suited by the way the track rides. Front runners are often advantaged by the way the track plays and that's precisely what connections shall want. He's been plagued with unsoundness and inconsistency throughout his career, but in this event he appears a solid chance.
#2 DRAGON KINGDOM has lost his desire to find the line this campaign and is now contesting class 5 for the very first time. Despite his poor form in this class he's capable of burning early with speed, and thereafter sticking on. Trainer Me Tsui is having an average season, with just five winners, but he's renowned for producing unexpected results with runners on dirt.
#7 TOUCH FAITH has a task to overcome after drawing the outside gate but it's likely he'll appreciate the speed, then work into it down the stretch. The stats tell you only a small amount of horses win when closing from mid-field or worse, but I'm expecting him to catch a few in the later stages. He handles all three tracks well but the greater results have been on this dirt surface.
#12 DASHING GENIUS wouldn't be the first lowest graded galloper to win and he maybe worth including. His only career placing came over this course and distance last season with a recent trial on it knot hopeless. With a feather on his back and a reasonable gate to jump from he's entitled to consideration.

Race 4

#10 THE MULTIPLIER has finally found his zone in Hong Kong and it's the 1200m on dirt. He recently stepped up to 1650m and ran two credible races from outside gates before returning to the 1200m to win. Zac Purton takes over the reigns which cuts the price in half, but a winner's a winner and that's what he should be doing.
#1 CALIFORNIA CONCORD is another genuine dirt horse that's blessed with early and dictatorship speed. He'll be attempting to cross those drawn underneath before setting up camp on the lead. With alternative pace drawn out wide the pressure early maybe intense, which potential opens him up to defeat. However, with recent efforts against superior opponents he should be holding his own.
#5 SHINING FORTUNE has only be successful on one occasion but he continues building form and strength. With an economical run expected form the draw he can settle closer in the run. If he positions no worse than mid-field through the first half, which I believe he does, then he's a genuine danger to most.
#11 MAGIC SUPREME trialled exceptionally well earlier in the season and these are his ideal race conditions. His zest for racing has gradually tired but he'll be first to the rail and is expected to lead. Extremely well rated and lightly weighted are additional reason he commands respect.
#12 COLOURFUL PRINCE bolted up two runs back when leading throughout to score and should be excused for failing last run. He missed the start and was never a hope when jumping up in class but an important change of rider has tonight taken place. He'll roll forward with room to move from the wider gate and thereafter run you a race.
