Rail - B Course

Race 1

#2 JACK WIN broke through for his maiden victory last start over this course and trip and he's in the hunt for back to back.A number of runners have genuine claims in the night's opening event but he maps best with others drawing wide. The rise in weight won't be an issue, as he's a big strong boy, so he appears the roving banker in the event.
#1 BIRDSVILLE has trialled up nicely at Conghua since his debut run in class 5 and is a definite threat. He's third up from a bled but exceptionally well handicapped after arriving in Hong Kong on a rating of sixty five.Hugh Bowman jumps off JACK WIN to take the mount but from an outside barrier there are justified reservations.
#8 FORTUNE MASTER had all the favours when winning at Sha Tin two runs back and a similar journey is anticipated tonight. The 1200m has generally been a fraction short but he was nice and sharp in two lead up trials. Zac Purton was aboard in the aforementioned hit outs, and atop at his previous three starts, but he doesn't have a ride?
#10 ALLOY KING receives numerous ticks when analysing the specifics of this contest.A good record in the class, plus familiar jockey and distance, hold him accountable for a strong performance. In fact, his two poorest results this campaign unfolded via wide barrier draws but tonight he's drawn the pole.
#4 THETA HEDGE comes back in trip to 1200m but can be considered a player from the low and advantageous draw. He's fit and has the tactical speed to hold a position through the first half, although it'll take some vigorous riding.Class 5 is his right level and jockey Vincent Ho reacquainting himself is a good sign.

Race 7

#2 ROCKET SPADE is the best maiden galloper running around in Hong Kong but is definitely on his last chance. He's been narrowly beaten in all bar one race this campaign and unfortunately for punters, a costly conveyance. Many shall have lost patience with him by now, particularly after the average effort last outing on dirt, but with the claiming rider booked and racing back on turf, I'm stepping in one last time.
#3 MEANINGFUL STAR had further ligament issues with his left fore during the initial months of this season but is now back in form judged on past runs.He holds the aces looking at the break down of this contest and should be ridden accordingly by Vincent Ho.It's difficult to envisage him out of the frame, when the judge calls time, so he's a safer option.
#6 UP AND UP made a reasonable impression at his Hong Kong debut and was nowhere near his peak. The former English galloper finished top two at all bar one of his seven start for Sir Michael Stoute and must be considered.A recent trial with Bowman aboard was quiet but full of praise, with Purton now seemingly bumping his fellow Australian for the ride.
#5 TURIN MASCOT was scratched from his last intended start but has since trialled satisfactorily in preparation for this event.I'm overlooking his first two runs and suggest he can greatly improve, now he's changed his residential address.Acclimatisation appears to have been the primary issue so a scenery change helps.
#11 YOUNG BRILLIANT has been better at his past couple and can offset the draw with speed. The former Andrew Balding trainer galloper has talent and can further improve but still has plenty to learn. He won at Epsom over 2000m before performing credibly at Newmarket, but patience plus extra distance appear key.
