Plenty of racing around Japan on Tuesday with five meetings taking place. Funabashi, Mizusawa, Sonoda, Kanazawa, Kasamatsu all play host and we've done the form and picked out our best bets across the day.
Funabashi Race 12 #13 Budget Line
Clearly looks the horse to beat on ratings this filly and although she's coming off three straight wins, I'm expecting we get a decent price given she went around at $20 odds last start in an easier grade of race. She's continued to step up every time and gone through the grades well and she's proven very hard to run down once she finds the front. She's proven out to 2000m just two starts ago so the trip will be no issue and if she gets across without too much hassle she should be winning again. #4 Tomiken Misterio is the main danger with his winning streak coming to an end last start but he's in great form and proven at this level.
Kanazawa Race 7 #6 Vina Princess
Looks a race in two at Kanazawa and I think Vina Princess will be the lesser fancied of the two main chances given she started $15 in the market last time, running second. Her win first up rated very highly and if she found that form again I think she'd win however her last two starts have both been rock solid and are competitive. Her peak ratings are better than that of #2 Meisho Nasca who is racing well and looks the likely favourite coming off a win here last time out. There isn't much between them and I think Vina Princess might be the bet.
Mizusawa Race 11 #10 Une Autre Belle
Very competitive race at Mizusawa and I think Une Autre Belle is a very interesting horse. She started nearly 500-1 and was beaten some 18 lengths last start but was way out of her grade, taking on a listed race at Morioka. Her form prior was excellent around this level, winning her two starts also at Morioka and if she were to bounce back to those ratings she'd be the horse to beat here. I can't see the market keeping her very short off her massive starting price last start with plenty of other horses in form so she might be one to start over the odds and be worth a bet.
Sonoda Race 7 #8 Macarena Dance
Another one where I think the race revolves around two main chances and Macarena Dance likely starts second favourite given his starting price of 10-1 last start when third. This son of superstar Epiphaneia was very good the start prior when beaten less than a length in a similar race and a repeat of that rating would go very close to winning. He can mix his form but if he runs to his best he'll take a power of beating. #6 Vip Liverpool was rolled as an odds-on favourite last start but was good prior and looks the likely favourite in the race, but there is little between them.
