Chukyo Dirt Race 8 - #8 Shambalah 

Honest four-year-old who looks close to a win. Finally got off the mark with maiden success before a well deserved break, then has been runner-up in two runs this time in. The latest in similar grade over 2000m at Hanshin.

Career wise the entire has raced 11 times for a win and nine minors and his best figures have come on the dirt. He is yet to miss the frame at both the course and distance and at peak fitness after two runs in he looks tough to beat again today.

Gluhwurm is a progressive type and looks the main threat. He returned from a break with a fast finishing fourth and has plenty of upside.
 

Nakayama Race 10 - #10 Sonnig 

Lightly raced five-year-old overdue for a win. After finishing runner-up at his first two from a break, this entire hit the line hard for fifth last time, beaten only 1.6 lengths from the winner. That figure was a little below his best figure and importantly his top results have been here at Nakayama with its tricky rising home straight.

Returning to the course today and meeting a similar race over the same journey he looks tough to stop late.

Ginestra finished a fraction ahead of Sonnig in the same race last time and looks a threat again. Like Sonnig, he goes well at the course and will be winding up late again.
 

Nakayama Race 12 - #1 Teegarden 

Talented type overdue for a win. The entire hasn't won for over a year but is close to breaking through. After tackling a number of far superior races he went for a well earned rest. First two runs back from a break were second placings before finishing fifth last time here, winding up steadily to finish three lengths from the winner.

He meets an easier line-up today and has also drawn a much better gate, where he should enjoy a soft run on the inside. With even luck he is expected to feature in the finish.

Aventurier hit the line hard fresh and appeals as the main threat. The extra ground is a big plus with both career successes coming at the longer trip.
 

Nakayama Dirt Race 11 - #1 William Barows 

Honest galloper resuming from a spell. Tackled much tougher company at last run, trying to lead throughout before folding up and being safely held. Resumes in far easier grade today and looks very well placed.

His best form is on the dirt and he has a great record at the course, with three wins and a minor from four tries. His best figures should be enough to take care of this field.

New Monument turned in a nice run in stakes class when resuming, finishing runner-up. He can only be fitter and looks to go one better.
