Two meetings across Japan on Friday with racing from Nagoya and Kawasaki. We've done the form and highlighted our best bets for the day.

Nagoya Race 8- #6 Doremifong

There look to be a few strong chances in this and I think Doremifong will start the longest given she started $9.20 last start, with four other runners in the field starting >$4.5 last start, two of those four winning. Doremifong has won her past two in good style and importantly posted ratings that give her a very strong winning chance in this field. With #8 Keika likely to start favourite, I think there will be some solid value backing Doremifong each-way.

Nagoya Race 12- #2 Star Impact

Only a small field here but Star Impact clearly looks the one to beat coming off a smart win last start when able to lead all the way. That was over 1500m and he now rises to 2000m which is a slight query but his narrow fourth over the trip prior only rated slightly lower than his win last start. He should find the front again and prove very tough to catch with the small field likely to suit his style. #4 Shirakami Road did beat Star Impact over 2000m when they clashed but started $14 in the market and I think Star Impact is a big chance of turning the tables this time.

Kawasaki Race 4- #5 Shinto Tsubaki

Very keen on this three-year-old filly resuming. Her two runs as a two-year-old were excellent, just run down very late on debut before recording a dominant three length win over this track and distance when leading all the way. She has to come back and do it first up but if she runs to that level again she should prove too fast for these, who would need to go to another level. #1 Greeley does possess similar peak ratings but does have to carry top weight here and will be giving Shinto Tsubaki a head start.

Kawasaki Race 7- #7 Shimme Kyer

Interesting little race with Shimme Kyer actually bringing the best last start rating into the field but very unlikely to start favourite ahead of #11 Sun Eau Claire, who has won her past two and started $1.90 last time out. Shimme Kyer has only won once from seven starts but hasn't been far away and looks to have come back better than ever, only being run down late on resumption. His $8 starting price should ensure we get a good price over Sun Eau Claire, who will again be hard to beat.
