Although we started the day with the disappointing news Inspired Sun had been scratched from the last, our mood was quickly lifted when our other best play of the day Endlessly took out the third event on the card.
Enjoying some success of late, we hope to keep the ball rolling as we look ahead to a competitive meeting on the Morphettville Parks surface.
Despite there not being any headline features install for us this weekend, I've found the card to be a great betting spectacle with a handful of appealing runners.
Our best of the day comes reasonably early in the day's action where we are with the Matt Cumani-trained Taramansour in race three.
There was plenty to like about his first-up effort when hitting the line gamely in a slowly run affair on the Hillside and I'm than more than willing to forgive his second-up run when not handling the tight turning Mooney Valley surface when up in grade.
The Dansili six-year-old shoulders much superior formlines to his rivals, most notably finishing narrowly behind Wentwood and G1 Turnbull Stakes winner Smokin' Romans in the 2021 G3 Bendigo Cup.
Boasting a handy record third-up where he's 2/3, Taramansour will eat up the extra 360m as he steps out to the 2400m. He looks to get an economical run from the inside and if he's anywhere near his best like he appears to be nearing, he will prove way too tough to hold out.
I'm expecting this fella to start favourite come race day.
Our other best play of the day comes in the last with Lafargue from the Danny O'Brien camp.
The Capitalist gelding profiles similarly to Taramansour in the fact he's been tackling tougher opposition over the border in Victoria.
Far from disgraced in recent outings turning in performances that carry plenty of merit, the four-year-old returns to South Australia and onto the Parks surface where he opened this campaigned with a dominant 1.5L victory.
Rock-hard fit now, Lafargue is drawn to get all the favours from the inside and should capitalise on a stalking run behind early favourite Secret War.
