Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Juvenile maidens in the opener with eight of the twelve racing for the first time. As so often though we side with experience and (5) HONOR LORD, who having won a July trial, ran well for 4th on debut in a decent time over this distance on August 28th. He should have come on for the run and won't need to improve much to win here. (10) TWOTWO FLYING has raced twice already, recording a 5th and a 4th, both on pace and both in good times. She draws a touch wide here but can go close again. As for the first-timers, (2) NICHOLAS G. performed fairly in his trial, stopping the clock in a respectable time and can go well first up here while (4) HANEUL SEUNGNI was an on-pace 2nd in his heat and also looks capable of a bold showing. Returning to experience, (11) YEONSEUNG GO can perhaps improve on her debut showing.

Selections (5) Honor Lord (10) Twotwo Flying (2) Nicholas G. (4) Haneul Seungni

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

Maiden fillies here and (11) GEUMA SMARTY looks the one to beat. She has raced twice do far, registering a 4th and a 3rd at 1300M and 1400M, the latter in a good time. Her style so far has been to settle back and run on so the draw shouldn't be a problem and with some natural improvement here, she can win. (10) GLOBAL CATCHER improved significantly to run 2nd at odds in excess of 60/1 over this distance on August 28th. Although she already had a 3rd to her name, this was a much better performance and if she can produce more of the same, she can be in this too. (1) NAREUCAT has put in some respectable efforts at this distance and from a good gate today looks a solid placing chance. (5) WONDERFUL OCEAN and (3) TITAN K among others who can enter the calculations.

Selections (11) Geuma Smarty (10) Global Catcher (1) Nareucat (5) Wonderful Ocean

Busan Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

(1) VICTOR BASIUM will be hot favourite to strike here having returned from ten months out on September 16th to run an on pace 3rd over this distance in a time faster than any of today's rivals have achieved. He should have benefitted from that run and will take some beating here. (5) UNJU SSAGSSEULI beat three of these on her way to 3rd place over this distance in an all-filly maiden on September 2nd. That was a big improvement from her debut and a similar run will put her in the finish again here. (7) USEUNG YEOGEOL finished 7th in that same race but had previously shown ability with a 4th and a 3rd over this distance. An apprentice keeps her carried weight very low and she could go close here. (6) RELEASE EDITION and (9) URI JOEUNNAL are others who should be in at least the placing frame.

Selections (1) Victor Basium (5) Unju Ssagsseuli (7) Useung Yeogeol (6) Release Edition

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(6) CHOICE RUN ran out a comfortable winner having made all at start number two on August 28th, after running 3rd on debut. He comes up in class and in trip here but neither should be an issue and he is favoured to win again. (4) WORLD FLOWER is yet to win in nineteen attempts but has plenty of near-misses, including 2nd and 3rd in her latest two, both in good times over this distance. She likes to settle back and run on and she can pass plenty in the latter stages here. (1) JUMAL BOBAE ran 5th in Busan's Classic Trial back in the Spring and looks to be coming back into form with a good 2nd place at class and distance last time out. He comes up in the weights but that's balanced by a nice draw and he can be competitive. (2) BLUE CARSON and (10) SINUI JEONSA are others in the mix.

Selections (6) Choice Run (4) World Flower (1) Jumal Bobae (2) Blue Carson

Busan Race 5: Class 5 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

(3) CHAMP GO got his maiden win over 1400M two starts back when making all, before running 3rd on his first try at this class and distance on September 18th, when settling midfield and running on well, defeating three of today's rivals in the process. That experience should stand him in good stead here and third-up this preparation, he could be peaking. (6) DOCTOR KHALIFA comes up in class having led every step of the way over 1400M on September 2nd.  He was well beaten by Champ Go two starts back but while today's weight scale does him no favours, he should be competitive. (5) WIND WINNER has run 3rd in both tries at this class so far, over 1400M and 1600M. He tackles two turns for the first time but there is no reason why it can't suit. (7) HORAENGI and (11) KING BID among others who can enter the calculations.

Busan Race 6: Class 4 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

Competitive race. (8) ROSE BULLET enters in good form with two 3rd place finishes and a 2nd from his latest three, all at class and distance. Last time out he led almost the entire way around, ultimately going down by a narrow margin in a tight finish. The draw is perhaps a touch wider than ideal but he has fair claims. (3) HANEUL GANGJA has six top-three finishes from eight starts. He overcame gate ten to get on pace and run 2nd over 1400M at his latest start on August 26th and the additional furlong should do him no harm at all. (7) SEUNGNI TOUT carries plenty of weight but he is rarely too far away and looks to have solid minor money credentials here. (6) YEONGWON POWER and (4) DUMUSAN others who are capable.

Selections (8) Rose Bullet (3) Haneul Gangja (7) Seungni Tout (6) Yeongwon Power

Busan Race 7: Class 4 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

(9) JEOLGEOUNYEOJEONG isn't the simplest to spell or pronounce but she has a bit of ability about her with a win and two runner-up finishes from three starts so far, running on pace each time. She comes up in class and in trip here but the conditions mean she carries barely any weight at all and she will be hot favourite to win again. (5) KENDRICK also comes up in class for his return to action following five months out. He led all the way in a trial last weekend and if he brings that form to the races, he can pick up from where he left off. (11) SEONGSIL SIHWA had a poor day at the office last time out over a mile. Go on her form prior to that though and back at 1400M today, she can be considered. (2) RAON THE FLASH is up in class have made all to win over this distance on August 21st and he should measure up in this company. (6) HAENGBOKAN HAMAN another in the hunt.

Selections (9) Jeolgeounyeojeong (5) Kendrick (11) Seongsil Sihwa (2) Raon The Flash

Busan Race 8: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

It took (7) SSONSAL CHEOREOM a couple of goes to figure things out but since he did, there has been no stopping him with the Race Day gelding having reeled off three wins in a row, all at this distance and the most recent at this class, positing fast times along the way. He comes up a full 5kg in the weights on his latest victory on August 6th, but he is the one to beat again. (8) USURP is a three-time winner over this distance and comes back in trip having run 5th on his first try at this class over 1400M at the end of August. He likes to get on pace and he will be in this a long way. (9) RAON THE POWER also comes back in trip, in his case following a disappointing showing behind Usurp on August 28th. He comes down in the weights as well with an apprentice claiming 2kg and he can be competitive today. (5) H. DAY and (3) WORLD SOCKS are others to consider.
