Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Juvenile maidens in the opener with four of the nine racing for the first time. There's going to be a hot favourite in the shape of (5) JANGBI MUJIGAE. The Hansen filly is making her third start here having run 5th and 3rd in her previous two, both in quick times. She has been settling midfield and running on but in this company may well be on the pace and she won't need to improve much, if at all, to win this. (9) MIR POINT has been 7th in both his outings to date but posted a quicker time in the latter, running through the line well. With some more natural improvement, he can be in this. The newcomers don't exactly quicken the pulse although (7) SIDAEUI MYEONGJAK ran well enough in his heat to suggest a bold showing first-up is possible. It's hard to make a case for any of the other newbies based on their trials so (6) ANYANG POKKYEOKGI and (2) BEAT RACER are favoured to improve.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

More juvenile maidens with four of the ten racing for the very first time. As in the previous race, we side with experience and (1) E-DANAEUN is set to be a warm favourite having run 5th of twelve on debut back on September 17th having drawn wide and then run on well. He doesn't have the benefit of an apprentice claim today but that's balanced somewhat by a much better draw and with some natural improvement, he looks the one to beat. Also drawing better at start number two is (4) SMARTY GLORY. She had to deal with gate twelve on debut on September 24th but ran on well to finish 5th in a fair time and with a couple of today's rivals behind her. Look for improvement. (6) AMAN BAROWS was a well-beaten 6th on debut but the time was good, and he too can build on it here. As for the first timers, (3) SHARP SUNSHINE and (5) SAVANA CHARLIE looked the best in trials.

Selections (1) E-Danaeun (4) Smarty Glory (6) Aman Barows (3) Sharp Sunshine

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

(2) MENI ACE ran twice at the start of the year, registering a 2nd place over this distance, before then being off for eight months. She returned on October 9th, again at this trip, when she settled back from the widest gate, before running on for a solid 5th place. She should strip fitter for that run, she comes into a better gate, and she will be favourite to score. That will mean overturning the form on (5) SERYUNG, who was 4th in that October 9th race, a length and a half ahead of Meni Ace. He comes up 2kg without the benefit of an apprentice claim, but he should be competitive again. (11) MAGIC JUDE appears to be figuring out what to do three starts into a return after eight months off. The draw is not in her favour but with a touch of luck at the start, she can be considered. (7) GANGCHEOL BUDAE and (1) WHITE WITCH others in at least the placing frame.

Selections (2) Meni Ace (5) Seryung (11) Magic Jude (7) Gangcheol Budae

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(11) CUPID WARRIOR made all to win on debut over 1000M on October 2nd in a fast time. He comes up in class and in distance and while the draw does him no favours at all, the manner of that win suggests that with some natural improvement, he can maintain his 100% record here. (2) JAKDUKONG has been super consistent across her latest five outings, finishing either 3rd or 4th. That puts her up in class here but the counter to that is she is down in weight and draws very nicely. She can measure up here. (9) MEOTJIN GIROK returned to action following six months out on October 16th and ran a good 5th over this distance. He should strip fitter here and can get closer. (3) GOLD POWER, who can have a line drawn through his latest, and (5) DOLBAE among others int the minor money frame.

Selections (11) Cupid Warrior (2) Jakdukong (9) Meotjin Girok (3) Gold Power

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Fillies and mares only here and it is not a strong race. That does though make it arguably the most competitive event of the card. Accordingly, we might as well take a chance with (10) WILD RUNNER. Her first two efforts at this class following a maiden win over 1200M back in April have been only fair, but she has a good finish on her, the wide draw shouldn't be a problem, and lightly raced, she may still have some improvement in her. The veteran (3) JEJUUI YOJEONG may warrant favourite status as she comes in with her recent form reading the best having run 3rd and 5th in her latest two. She has the fastest time among these at the distance and while she comes up in weight, she draws well. (11) TROT QUEEN is yet to win in eleven attempts but has run competitive times at various trips and shouldn't be discounted here. (1) EUNHYE PADO and (9) MUSTANG CHARM others who can be considered.

Selections (10) Wild Runner (3) Jejuui Yojeong (11) Trot Queen (1) Eunhye Pado

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1600M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

(4) WONPYEONG COD comes in off a solid class and distance 2nd on October 16th and while he comes up a couple of kilograms in the weights and can mix his form, he looks to be the one to beat here. (7) WINNER TEMPLAR ran 3rd at class and distance on September 17hth, settling back and then running on. She draws the same gate today and should have benefited from that experience. She can be a danger. (6) HAPPY SOCKS was an on-pace winner over 1300M at class 5 level on October 15th. This is quite a big step up but if he can get to the front, he can be in this a long way. (2) SINHAN TEUKSONG was a solid winner over 1400M at class 5 level two starts back and then showed on pace before ultimately finishing in 5th over 1700M on October 15th. She is beautifully drawn here and can go close. (5) SONGAM TIZ another in the frame.

Selections (4) Wonpyeong Cod (7) Winner Templar (6) Happy Socks (2) Sinhan Teuksong

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(6) MENI GOLD was a winner over 1200M two starts back before running 3rd on her first try at this level on October 15th, again at six furlongs, running on well. She is nicely in again here and while she tackles the 1400M for the first time, she looks to be the one to beat. (7) HANGANG BOSS was the longest shot on the board when winning at class and distance in September. He couldn't follow up on his return on October 16th, but the engagement of an apprentice today takes him back down in the weights and he can be competitive again. (2) CHALLENGE SOCKS comes in off a class and distance 3rd on September 24th when handy throughout. She too looks nicely in with an apprentice keeping the weight low and with a good draw. (1) IL MARE and (3) BODYGUARD among others to consider.

Selections (6) Meni Gold (7) Hangang Boss (2) Challenge Socks (1) Il Mare

Seoul Race 8: Class 5 (1700M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

(4) FEDERAL KING beat three of these on his way to 3rd place at class and distance on October 15th when he settled midfield before dropping right back and then running on well. He carries the same weight today he draws nicely, and he could win. (2) K N TIZWON was 4th in that October 15th race and it's possible he may have some improvement in him. That was his first try around two turns and he should have derived benefit from it. He went right back that day before running on and while he remains a maiden after eight attempts, he has six to-four finishes and should be close once more. (10) WONDERFUL JOY returned from seven months out to run a solid 3rd over a mile on October 9th when prominent throughout. He should strip fitter for that run and while he draws wide, he has claims here. (3) CURRERECUS and (8) DIVINE FUTURES others in the placing frame.

Selections (4) Federal King (2) K N Tizwon (10) Wonderful Joy (3) Currerecus

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

(10) DREAM KNOCK made all to win at class and distance on October 1st, beating a couple of today's rivals in the process. He comes up 2kg in the weights as a result and draws an even wider gate than he did last time, but he has very good gate speed and could get a jump on them and go all the way again. (3) ACE HAMSEONG is a dour but reliable galloper who has no fewer than eighteen top-four finishes from twenty-five starts including all his latest nine. He will settle midfield and will be running on into money once more. (7) CHOEGANG PARTY dead-heated for 2nd behind Dream Knock back at the start of October before coming back out to on October 22nd to run a solid 3rd, again at class and distance. He carries the same weight today and should be there or thereabouts. (1) UNOECHANGCHEON and (8) HAEDEULMOE are among others in the hunt in a competitive race.

Selections (10) Dream Knock (3) Ace Hamseong (7) Choegang Party (1) Unoechangcheon

Seoul Race 10: Class 2 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

(8) SEUNGBUSA won Seoul's Classic trial at this distance in March before going on to run 3rd in the KRA Cup Mile and 2nd in the Korean Derby. He ran fairly in the Minister's Cup before disappointing when hot favourite back in shallower waters over a mile in July. He had a couple of months off after that which seemed to benefit him when 2nd on his return over 1200M on October 15th and he looks ready to return to the winner's circle here. He will go to the front and can lead from gate to wire. (7) JOY BROTHER looks the most credible danger. After an unsuccessful spin around 1800M for his first try at class 2 a month ago, he comes back to the distance at which he won a valuable Trophy race by the narrowest of margins on September 3rd, settling well back and running on. So long as he doesn't leave himself too much to do, he will be coming after Seungbusa late on here. (3) COBRA BALL draws better than he did last time out. He is a winner at this class and while his best seems to be 1200M, he can be competitive here. (10) MIGHTY GEE and (11) LORD BAN among others in the frame.

Selections (8) Seungbusa (7) Joy Brother (3) Cobra Ball (10) Mighty Gee
