Preview: Windsor

Seven races will be held at Royal Windsor on Monday evening including a competitive sprint series handicap qualifier.

The action begins with the 6f class five At The Races App Market Movers 'Confined' Handicap (5.45pm)Big R rates highly after showing plenty of ability at Haydock when second over this trip and the gelding rates as one of the leading contenders.In The Giving was below par on heavy ground in April at Leicester but prior to that outing was a smart second in similar company at Southwell AW tackling 7f. A return to a sounder surface should help the filly bounce back to best form. 

Raven's Applause was not disgraced at Newmarket when fifth in a competitive 7f handicap last month. He faces an easier contest and can continue to progress. Berkshire Cruz is open to improvement on seasonal return and looks interesting alongside My Mate Mike who placed third in a lower-class handicap over this distance at Salisbury last month. 

The 6f class four British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes (6.15pm) appears to be an intriguing contest. The Line caught the eye when posting a smart third in a class two 5f conditions race at Ascot on debut. He may prove difficult to beat in an easier grade with further progression expected. Matnookh is a half-brother to two-year-old 6f winner Lerkhan and 1m winner Silver Run and this son of Sea The Stars could make an impact on his racecourse debut. Brave Empire is open to improvement after a sixth on debut at York last month. The grey drops in class and is up in trip. 

One of the highlights on Monday evening is the 6f class three Fitzdares Sprint Series Qualifier Handicap (7.15pm)Eminency ran well to finish a close third at Newmarket in a higher-class handicap over this journey last month. The son of Havana Grey has been dropped in class and is expected to be competitive. Spartan Arrow caught the eye at Brighton two outings back with a convincing four-and-a-quarter length success in a 5f maiden before struggling in a competitive York handicap. A return to this level is expected to see him back in the mix. 

Bresson was not disgraced at Goodwood when a close fifth in a higher grade 7f handicap nine days ago. The three-year-old son of Dubawi represents leading connections and has winning form over this trip. Tough Enough is promising individual with two placings preceding a victory in a 6f novice race at Wolverhampton on the all-weather last November. Wiltshire is not discounted following a fair fifth in Listed company over 7f at Newmarket a month ago. He holds two entries at Royal Ascot and is worth a second look. 

The 1m 2f class four Download Fitzdares For Free Race Streaming Handicap (7.45pm) looks interesting. Silver Gunn is expected to be competitive after a strong third in a Class Three course and distance handicap last week. Farasi Lane produced a fair fourth over 1m  at Kempton Park on the all-weather and the five-year-old can go close if replicating the same form on turf. Wisper scored at Brighton two runs ago by a head. The mare was a course and distance winner last October and can be competitive switched to open company.
