There seldom is a win from the winner of the Centaur Stakes and this was again the case when it was the 7yo Gendarme who got the victory.  Maybe he was inspired with all the happenings at Longchamp or by the fact that his mother won this race in 2002!

He won by a neck from a fast finishing Win Marvel 19/1 and the fastest finisher of all in Naran Huleg 17/1 but the Takamasunomiya Kinen winner was block for a run and couldn't get out until it was too late.
