Champion's Cup 2022 at Chukyo

No joy for last year's winner T O Keynes as he could only finish fourth.

Interesting that the Japan Cup was won by a horse that had recently switched from dirt to turf, and this race has been won by a horse that did the opposite – switched from turf to dirt namely Jun Light Bolt.

Just when it looked as if Crown Pride was heading for victory, Jun Light Bolt came out of the pack with a great finishing run to overtake several others and Crown Pride right at the line and win his first G1 by a neck.  Hapi was third, and T O Keynes blew the start and put in some good work towards the finish but too little too late.

It is likely that Jun Light Bolt will head to the Middle East next year either for Saudi or Dubai or both.
