And in Japan at the weekend

Yutaka Take has ridden his 4,000th winner – an amazing feat.

Unfortunately his ride at Chukyo in the Tokai Stakes didn't add to the total where his mount finished at the wrong end of the field.  The G2 went to Promised Warrior under visiting jockey Murzabayev with Hagina Alegrias second and Hayabusa Nandekum third.

At Nakayama the American Jockey Club Cup was won by North Bridge on 8.9 with Echt second and Uberleben third and favourite Gaia Force fourth.  The first six runners finished in a block with not much between them.

Not a big surprise to see that Equinox won the Horse of the Year award.  The 2yo colt was Dolce More by Rulership, and the 2yo filly, 3yo colt and 3yo filly are all by Duramente! And the 2yo filly is Liberty Island out of our own Yankee Rose.  The 3yos are Stars on Earth and Titleholder.

Geraldina was the best older f/m, Serifos the best sprinter/miler, Café Pharoah the best on the dirt and Oju Chosan the best over jumps.
