We've been busy in Dubai cheering on the Japanese runners and what a night it was.  Of course the 6 Japan-based jockeys who rode in Dubai won't be able to ride here as they have to be "locked up" on the premises from the previous night.

On paper this seems a very open race.  Two daughters of Mikki Isle – Meikei Yell 4.2 and Namura Clair 6.1 share the top billing on the Morning Line.  They are just ahead of a relatively unknown Aguri (who being by Caravaggio should possibly be "aUguri" – Italian for good luck) who won the Hanku Hai on 6.4.  Also in single figures Lotus Land who came second in this race last year on 7.9 and Toshin Macau on 8.7.
