It's race 9 on the card and over the classic distance of 2400 and we will see the return of Russian Emperor. He's beautifully bred being by Galileo and out of Atlantic Jewel and won the big one in Doha.  He couldn't repeat that in his two starts at Meydan but this is much easier and a quote of 6.6 makes him value.  Hugh Bowman has the ride for Douglas Whyte.

Currently heading the market is Straight Arran for Fownes-Ho.  His win at his last outing was excellent and he's been working well but 2.4 seems a bit skinny.  Two other runners with at least e/w chances are Running Glory on 9.7 for Size-Purton and Panfield, who has been entered in the Takarakazuka Kinen, on 9.4 Millar-Teetan.

Earlier at Race 7 we have the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce Centenary Handicap Class 2 over 1200m.  Golden Express is a stand-out here and not surprising to see the odds-on quote of 1.4 – Size-Purtin to pair involved.  Nervous Witness needs a name change as he's doing his best to live up to his name however he is on 16 for Hayes-Hewitson and our roughie here is Carroll Street on 33.0 for Douglas Whyte and Antoine Hamelin.
