Friday starts off with the G1 Coronation Stakes over the 2400m and again only a small field – 5 runners this time.  We are going for Point Lonsdale here and the German raider Tünnes with Rene Piecheluk riding for Peter Schiergen.  They were last seen in the Japan Cup 2022 when Tünnes blew the start but still finished 9th which was respectable.

It's an interesting move but then Holgar Renz his owner is an interesting character – he names his runners in Cologne dialect slang and has another useful horse in Germany Aft Un Za.

Then the Oaks – yes Savethelastdance won at Chester by 22 lengths which was amazing but who did she beat is always the question.  She's by Galileo out of the lovely American mare Daddy's Lil Darling and 11/8 the quote for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore.

The Gosdens have two very good chances here and one of them we like a fraction more than the other and that is Running Lion, by Roaring Lion, who looks like a very tough girl and that is what is needed at Epsom.  Their other chance Soul Sister is by Frankel and recently won the Musidora which is a great prep for this.
