Security Advisor was a last start winner in an 1800 metre Class 1 race at Eagle Farm on May 3 and was a dual-acceptor in the Class 3 Handicap over 2040 metres and the Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1650 metres at Doomben.

Chris Meagher elected to start Security Advisor in the shorter Benchmark race and has booked champion Melbourne jockey Craig Williams.

"He drew barrier one in the Benchmark race compared to 10 in the Class 3 but I always preferred to run him in the shorter race," Meagher said.

"It's worked out well as the rail is out a fair way and the shorter race will suit him better.

"He's going well and I just thought he'd be more effective over 1600 metres than 2000 metres.

"He's by Shalaa and the breed generally don't run a trip."

Security Advisor has started only five times for Meagher since transferring from Sydney trainer John Thompson.

"His last win was very good but it took him a while to wind up," Meagher said.

"He had five days out in the paddock after his last run and has had three good gallops since he came back and is looking pretty sharp.

"His form is very good and with Craig Williams riding him, he should be able to get into a good spot.

"He looks to have all the boxes ticked and will be hard to beat."

Security Advisor is raced by Waratah Thoroughbreds, which has had a long and successful association with the Meagher stable.

"He's had throat surgery but since he's been with me he's never been further back than third in five starts," Meagher said.

Meagher rates Melbourne visitor Miss Keeler as Security Advisor's main threat.

The Jim Conlan-trained Miss Keeler has won three of her 18 starts and earned a trip to Queensland following two wins and three placings at her previous five provincials Victorian starts.

"I think we've got most of them covered and Miss Keeler looks the main danger," Meagher said.
